Description: A sturdy (15.3 hands) liver chestnut Thoroughbred/Irish Draught-cross ridden by Lucinda Fredericks, Headley Brittania's career has been one for the record books. A true champion, she recovered from a life-threatening virus in 2005 to become the first mare in 33 years to win three-day eventing's four-stage Burghley Horse Trials, and the next spring, rewrote history again when she became the first mare in 53 years to win the four-star Badminton Horse Trials. In 2008, the same year that Brit carried Lucinda to an Olympic team silver medal, two of her foals were born via surrogate. Brit celebrated motherhood with another first-place finish in Lexington's Rolex Kentucky CCI**** and is favored to find the winning path to the medals podium again in many upcoming competitions.

Introduced at the 2010 Games and now available nationwide: Breyer model portraits of Lucinda Fredericks Eventing mare, Headley Britannia ("Brit")! Beautiful liver chestnut Brit was the first mare in 33 years to win the 2006 Burghley Horse Trials and the first mare in 53 years to win the 2007 Badminton Horse Trials.

Since its start in 1990, the World Equestrian Games has become the largest and most prestigious horse competition, rivaling the Olympics in importance to the equestrian world. Breyer joins the 2010 Games in celebrating the courage, athleticism and beauty of the horse at its pinnacle of achievement and is honored to be the Official Model Horse Maker. In these special, highly collectible keepsake models, Breyer captures the spirit, grace and power of the horses of the World Equestrian Games.
